Prior to entering the construction equipment industry in 1953 and developing the first Japanese farm tractor for sale in 1960, Osaka, Japan,-based Kubota was known for producing cast iron pipes and valves for water supply, sewer, and rainwater drainage. It still offers many of those same products, along with vending machines, engines, and combine harvesters and rice transplanters.
